The festival was closed with the audience at\u00a0<strong>CineStar Branimir<\/strong>\u00a0in high spirits, as Director\u00a0<strong>Boris T. Mati\u0107\u00a0<\/strong>and Program Director\u00a0<strong>Selma Mehad\u017ei\u0107\u00a0<\/strong>announces this year\u2019s winners.<\/p>\n<p>The Best Feature Film was decided by producer Anamaria Antoci, director Ninna P\u00e1lmad\u00f3ttir and Vancouver and Toronto festivals selector Sonja Baksa. The Feature Film Jury unanimously awarded the<strong>\u00a0Golden Pram for Best Feature Film\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0<strong>Leonardo Van Dijl\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0Belgian-Swedish drama\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/julie-keeps-quiet\/\"><strong><em>Julie<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>Keeps Quiet<\/em>.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive\">\n<div class=\"videoEmbed\">\n<div class=\"iframe-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"embed-responsive-item     lazyloaded\" title=\"JULIE JE ODLU\u010cILA \u0160UTJETI \/ trailer\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xayxWMt5awg?feature=oembed\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xayxWMt5awg?feature=oembed\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><em>\u201cThe main film prize goes to a mature, measured and finely calibrated feature debut that showcases incredible command of tone, structure, and pacing. The psychological drama and inner tension are handled beautifully, enriched with stylistic touches and repetition that build slowly on the character\u2019s inner turmoil with impressive restraint and complexity\u201d,\u00a0<\/em>said the jury\u2019s statement<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Although no Special Mentions were awarded at the 22nd ZFF, the feature film jury highlighted another title from the feature film competition that \u201c<em>deserves an<\/em>\u00a0<em>artistic nod for its masterfully crafted storytelling, profound performances and bold tone<\/em>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/drowning-dry\/\"><strong><em>Drowning Dry\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/a><em>by\u00a0<\/em><em>Laurynas Barei\u0161a<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The International Short and Checkers jury, consisting of two-time laureate of the ZFF International Short competition,<strong>\u00a0Daniel Soares<\/strong>, last year\u2019s Checkers program winner\u00a0<strong>David Ga\u0161o,\u00a0<\/strong>and the selector of the Hamburg Film Festival,\u00a0<strong>Yulia Serdyukova<\/strong>, has chosen winners in three categories.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Golden Pram for Best Croatian Film in the Checkers program went to Sara Alavani\u0107\u2019s short film\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/spot\/\"><em>Spot<\/em><\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<em>\u201can unconventionally structured piece brimming with ambitious ideas stands out primarily for its unique poetic approach, but also for a convincing insight into the social milieu barely explored in Croatian films\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Golden Pram for Best International Short went to Taiwanese director An Chu\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/the-stag\/\"><em>\u00a0The Stag<\/em><\/a>, \u201c<\/strong><em>a film where theme, craft and vision come together in an outstanding mark of cinematic achievement. This film blew our minds from the first to the last frame. It questions the role of fatherhood and male behaviour in general\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive\">\n<div class=\"videoEmbed\">\n<div class=\"iframe-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"embed-responsive-item     lazyloaded\" title=\"Trailer | The Stag | Chu An\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/18kgBFshACc?feature=oembed\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/18kgBFshACc?feature=oembed\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>European Short Film Candidate \u2013 Prix Vimeo\u00a0<\/strong>for the<strong>\u00a02026 European Film Awards\u00a0<\/strong>is\u00a0<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/?s=The+Idea+of+an+Island\">The Idea of an Island<\/a>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>directed by\u00a0<strong>Carmen Pedrero\u00a0<\/strong>which, \u201c<em>using a childlike energy and honesty, offers to the audience a multilayered take on humanity\u2019s extremes\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Young Jury consisting of Ema Fabian, Jelena Juri\u0107 and Marta Petrakovi\u0107 awarded the\u00a0<strong>PLUS Award for Best Film\u00a0<\/strong>to the Thai director\u00a0<strong>Pat Boonnitipat\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0bitter-sweet flick\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/how-to-make-millions-before-grandma-dies\/\"><em>How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies<\/em><\/a>. \u201c<\/strong><em>With its heartfelt story that leaves no one indifferent, the film contextualises us, as young people, in the world of transience\u201d<\/em>, says the statement of the Young Jury.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive\">\n<div class=\"videoEmbed\">\n<div class=\"iframe-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"embed-responsive-item     lazyloaded\" title=\"How to Make Millions before Grandma Dies Trailer #1 (2024)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-j0TqBTa4o4?feature=oembed\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-j0TqBTa4o4?feature=oembed\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Golden Bicycle for Best Film in the Together Again program\u00a0<\/strong>was awarded by the jury consisting of Andrej Korovljev, Hrvoje Osvadi\u0107 and Klara \u0160ovagovi\u0107, to the film\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/santosh\/\"><strong><em>Santosh\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/a>directed by\u00a0<strong>Sandhya Suri<\/strong>, \u201c<em>which does not condemn, but calls for an understanding of a world where there are no simple answers, where justice and truth become relative concepts, lost in the complexity of social relations\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive\">\n<div class=\"videoEmbed\">\n<div class=\"iframe-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"embed-responsive-item     lazyloaded\" title=\"Santosh (2024) - Trailer (English Subs)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Oj9JqFwhmMc?feature=oembed\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Oj9JqFwhmMc?feature=oembed\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Children\u2019s Jury consisting of Lota Szilvasy, Alma \u0160ari\u0107 and Juraj \u010carnohorski awarded the\u00a0<strong>KinoKino Award for Best Film\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0<strong>Klemen Dvornik\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/block-5\/\"><em>\u00a0Block 5<\/em><\/a><\/strong><em>,\u00a0<\/em>stating<em>\u00a0\u201ct<\/em><em>he film inspired us and made us believe that it is worthwhile to fight for what we believe in and that our voice counts as much as anyone else\u2019s<\/em><em>\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The organisers thanked the\u00a0<strong>City of Zagreb Office for Culture, Intercity and International Relations and Civil Society, Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Creative Europe \u2013 MEDIA Sub-program, Zagreb Tourist Board, Kultura Nova,\u00a0<\/strong>and numerous sponsors, embassies, cultural institutes, and media sponsors.
